WHAT IS AN IMPLANT?
A dental implant is a small titanium screw placed surgically in the maxilla or mandible, creating a foundation for a crown, bridge or for fixing dentures.
Implants are a unique prosthetic supplement for several reasons:
? provide the patient with full mental and physical comfort
? the patient avoids the problems associated with classic prosthetics (removing dentures, the need to grind teeth)
? are a guarantee of quality and aesthetics
WHAT IS THE APPLICATION OF THE IMPLANTS?
? reconstruction of a single tooth
? reconstruction of a few missing teeth
? partial and complete toothlessness (dentures fixed on implants)
HOW LONG DOES IMPLANT TREATMENT TAKE?
The implantation procedure in the case of implantation of one implant without bone reconstruction or sinus lift takes about an hour. After the procedure, in about 7-10 days, you should come to the sutures removal and check-up. Then we have to wait about 3-6 months, after which the implant is inserted and the healing screw is inserted. The next stage - prosthetic reconstruction takes place after about 3-4 weeks. In the time between implant placement and prosthetic reconstruction, the patient receives a temporary prosthesis or uses the existing prosthesis.
WHICH IMPLANTS DO YOU USE IN THE CLINIC?
We use implants from American companies Dentsply (Astra Tech EV System) and Biomet 3i ?. Implants are covered by a 10-year extended warranty covering not only material defects of the implant or mechanical damage, but also very rare rejection of the implant by the patient's body. This warranty is also honored in all authorized dental offices.
HOW MUCH TIME NEEDED FOR IMPLANT TREATMENT?
The implantation procedure in the case of implantation of one implant without bone reconstruction or sinus lift takes about an hour. After the treatment, the stitches are removed after approx. 7-10 days. Then we have to wait about 3-6 months for the implants to heal. During this time, the patient receives a temporary restoration or uses his current prosthesis. After about 3-6 months, the second stage of treatment can be started. During this stage, the implant is exposed and a healing screw is inserted, allowing the gums to grow naturally around the implant (it takes about 3 weeks), then the crowns are placed and the work is completely finished. In the case of simple implantation, the entire treatment lasts from about 4 to 7 months. The total duration of treatment in each case is assessed on the basis of a detailed clinical examination and additional tests, such as conical computed tomography and analysis of dental plaster models.
WHAT IS THE COST OF THE IMPLANTATION TREATMEN
The cost of the implant is 3,500PLN, while the superstructure on the implant in the form of a crown is appropriate, from that time, from another one, from 3,000-3300 PLN. The following frameworks are used: metal, gold, all-ceramic (zircon). Sometimes an implantation procedure: providing information on a different treatment method (3800-5000 PLN) or the need to prepare for an implant in the method. The price exhibition is awarded that fixed the repair result of the radiation that induced and repair.
WHAT IS A VENEER?
Veneers are porcelain overlays on the outer surfaces of the teeth, about 0.5 mm thick. In this regard, we cooperate with the most experienced dental technicians in Poland and Italy. The indications for making veneers are: significantly discolored teeth, unsightly fillings, correction of the shape and arrangement of the teeth. The execution of the veneer requires a little grinding of the labial / outer surface of the tooth. For the best aesthetic results, veneers are usually made in pairs on identical teeth (for example, on both ones).
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF VENEERS IN RELATIO
The main advantages are the natural effect and durability as well as minimal interference with the natural tooth tissues (the depth of preparation / collection of own tissues with a drill is about 0.5 mm). As porcelain, unlike composite resin, does not discolor, the veneers are characterized by excellent aesthetics for a very long time. In addition, porcelain is well tolerated by the gingival tissue and thus the likelihood of gum disease is minimized.
WHEN IS IT WORTH TO MAKE VENEERS?
Properly prepared veneers can be used to improve the appearance of crowded teeth, they can close gaps between teeth, cover discoloration and generally brighten and improve the smile. With the help of veneers, you can correct both the shape and position of the teeth, as well as their color and length.
HOW MUCH DOES A VENEER COST?
The price is in the range of PLN 1390-3100. This discrepancy in price is due to the fact that we are able to make veneers not only in our clinic, but also in cooperation with the best prosthetic laboratories in Poland and Italy. It is also possible to make veneers in direct cooperation with a technician, on site in the office. This method allows for the ideal characterization of the prosthetic work in accordance with the appearance of other teeth and the patient's expectations.
WHAT IS A CROWN ?
Crowns are an excellent solution in the case of very damaged teeth. They cover a large amount of missing tooth tissues. Most often we use all-ceramic crowns, which aesthetically resemble natural teeth.
In the case of a single crown, treatment is usually carried out at least two visits, at intervals of about 2 weeks. At the first visit, the tooth is prepared, impressions are taken, the color of adjacent teeth is checked, a temporary crown is placed, and a final crown is placed on the second visit. Before making a crown, it may be necessary to perform preparatory treatment of the prepared tooth, such as root canal treatment or reinforcement of the tooth with an inlay. It is also necessary to prepare the gums - in the case of existing inflammation, treatment takes longer and the patient requires a series of professional hygienisation treatments and sometimes appropriate "healing" temporary crowns.
WHICH MATERIALS ARE MADE OF CROWNS?
Crowns are made of various materials, for example:
Porcelain on a metal substructure (the most common type of crown)
All-ceramic crown - most often used in the area of ??the front teeth. If it is made properly, it is difficult to distinguish from a natural tooth. It looks very natural.
Porcelain on a gold foundation - crowns very durable, biocompatible and aesthetic due to the "warm" color of gold
A crown on a titanium foundation entirely covered with ceramics - aesthetic and very durable, it is most often used as a reconstruction on implants
The type of material is selected depending on the clinical situation.
WHAT IS INLAY / ONLAY?
The inlay / onlay method consists in making seals more resistant to shrinkage and abrasion from materials specially hardened in prosthetic laboratories. Inlays / onlays can be made of composite, porcelain or gold.
CAN I TAKE A PANORAMIC X-RAY IN YOUR CLINIC?
Yes. The Dentist Clinic has the latest apparatus for taking panoramic photos and conical computed tomography, necessary in endodontic and implantological diagnostics.
WHY IS A FIRST-TIME CONSULTATION IS NECESSARY
The first-time consultation is a diagnostic visit. It is necessary to be examined, to examine the patient, points and x-rays, and an additional comprehensive treatment plan.
HOW DOES THE FIRST CONSULTATION LOOK LIKE?
During a comprehensive consultation, the patient fills in all necessary questionnaires regarding general health and a detailed oral health card (Koisa card). The doctor conducts an interview regarding the reasons for the patient's notification and expectations, and carries out a thorough dental examination. All the necessary radiological pictures are taken (orthopantomographic picture and, if necessary, point X-ray of the teeth or computed tomography). The doctor also takes a series of photographic photos of the patient used for digital smile analysis and supplementing medical documentation. Impressions are also taken to make plaster models of the teeth. The visit usually ends with the preparation of a treatment plan and an indicative cost estimate as well as appointments for treatment with specialists in a given field. Sometimes a second consultation visit is necessary, during which the information collected earlier is supplemented and the treatment plan is discussed.
